Happy summer, RADIOHEART supporters! We’re happy to share a mid-summer RADIOHEART update:
☀️ Production
Story editing continues and deepens with our editor, Andrew Franks, at the console. We continue to develop both a character study and a universal story. Each has fueled more filming. We’ve added Kevin fans who speak to the healing power of music—and dancing. Plus, Andrew and Peter took a wild 24-hour round trip to Minneapolis to capture Kevin back on the dance floor of First Avenue, where it all began.
(but first, a stop at the MSP airport Prince shop!)
☀️Film Festival Applications
We are pushing hard to have a final cut in time for Sundance, the first film festival deadline (late September).
Music supervisor Mike Turner is kicking ass. We appreciate his deep talents and careful attention to our project.
New clearances include:
-
“Sour Times” ~ Portishead
-
“Found Love” ~ freekind.
-
“Kim the Waitress” ~ Green Pajamas
As ever, big thanks to you, our donors, for supporting this film. We are proud to be creating a work reflecting the power of music (and Kevin!) to connect, energize, move and inspire, while sharing positivity and love. We could not be doing this without you.
Two foundation grant requests are pending. Fingers crossed: we’re waiting to hear back. We also continue to reach out to new potential donors. We recently received a $25,000 donation from a woman in California who doesn’t know Kevin or KEXP but who was inspired by our footage and wanted to be part of the film. We are also honored and excited to welcome Brandi and Catherine Carlile and the Looking Out Foundation to our team of major donors. If you know music lovers who might enjoy supporting RADIOHEART as major donors, get in touch and we’ll be delighted to meet with them.
